The difference of competition petanque ball and training petanque ball sets 

There are 2 kinds of petanque ball sets. One is competition ball, another is training ball.
The difference of competition balls and training balls as below:
·the competition ball must not have been filled with anything (sand, lead, mercury, oil) or tampered with in any way.
·the competition ball must bear engravings showing the manufacturer's name and the weight of the boule.
·the competition ball may bear striations (grooves).
If attend the competition ,sure you need to use the competition ball.
But if you played in the usual, or just played with some friends, you can choose the cheap training ball.
My manager told me, all the petanque ball sets made in China are all the training ball.
